The EAEU has approved a customs code for cocoa-containing glazed curd snacks
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has established clear customs clearance rules for this popular category of dairy desserts. Now, glazed curd snacks containing cocoa (either in the glaze itself or directly in the filling) must be declared under a unified standard, regardless of the proportion of ingredients.
"A cocoa-containing food product in the form of a glazed curd snack, the glaze and/or filling of which contains cocoa in any proportion, in accordance with General Rule 1 for the Interpretation of the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity, is classified under heading 1806," state the official materials of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The unification of customs codes will allow Chinese exporters of dairy products and ready-made sweets to avoid unforeseen border delays when supplying to Russia and other CIS countries. A single established code eliminates disputes with customs inspectors over the exact category the goods belong to: dairy products (which may require strict veterinary certificates) or chocolate products.
